On Saturday, September 20, the War Cemetery Foundation was present at the 10th anniversary of Veterans Day Brunssum. This event is traditionally held around the liberation date of Brunssum during the Second World War (September 19).
Our secretary, Shirley van Dishoeck-Sinfield, once again had the honor of presenting the ceremony. With great dedication and respect, she provided a dignified framework for the official program.
Together with board member Nowy van Hedel, we also set up an attractive stand where visitors could purchase various poppy items, pins, and coins. The proceeds contribute to our mission of keeping alive the memory of the sacrifices made by the liberators.
It was a successful day, filled with meaningful encounters, moving stories, and much interest from both young and old. The War Cemetery Foundation proudly looks back on this special edition of Veterans Day Brunssum.
