Wreath laying by British Army Headquarters South West

War Cemetery Brunssum

On Wednesday, 10 September, a group of approximately 30 soldiers from the British Army Headquarters South West will visit Brunssum. They will lay a wreath at the British War Cemetery on Heufstraat in memory of the fallen soldiers.

The soldiers will be received by the Mayor of Brunssum.
What makes this visit especially meaningful is that the soldiers specifically requested to meet the citizens – and in particular the adopters of the war graves. They wish to express their gratitude for the care and dedication with which the graves in Brunssum have been maintained and commemorated for decades.

We therefore call upon all adopters to be present on Wednesday, 10 September from 18:00 at the British War Cemetery (Heufstraat, Brunssum).

After the wreath-laying ceremony, there will be an opportunity to speak with the soldiers. A valuable encounter in which gratitude, respect, and remembrance will take centre stage.
We hope for a dignified gathering with a strong turnout.
